2 & 3 John

2 John

1 The elder, unto the Elect lady and her children, whom I Love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth: 2 For the truth's sake, which dwells in us, and shall be with us forever! 3 Grace be with you all; mercy, and peace, from Elohim the Father, by The Lord, Messiah Yeshua, the Son of the Father, in truth and Love. 4 I rejoiced greatly that I found of your children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. 5 And now I beseech you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto you, but that, which we had from the beginning; that we Love one another! 6 And this is Love; that we walk after His commandments. This is the commandment: That as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it. 7 For many deceivers have entered into the world, who confess not that Messiah Yeshua came in the flesh. They are a deceiver and an anti-Messiah. 8 Look unto yourselves; that we lose not those things that we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9 Whoever transgresses, and abides not in the doctrine of Messiah, has not Elohim; those that abide in the doctrine of Messiah, they have the Father and the Son! 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive them not into your house, neither bid them godspeed, * 11 for those that bid them godspeed is partaker of their evil deeds. 12 Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink, but I trust to come unto you and speak face to face, that our joy may be full. 13 The children of your Elect sister greet you. Amen!

3 John

1 The elder, unto the well beloved Gaius, whom I Love in the truth. 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. 3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, even as you walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 5 Beloved, you do faithfully whatsoever you do to the brethren, and to strangers, 6 which have borne witness of your charity before the Koinonia; whom, if you bring forward on their journey after a righteous sort, you shall do well. 7 Because, for His name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. 8 We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow helpers to the truth. 9 I wrote unto the Koinonia, but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, receives us not. 10 Therefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he does, prating against us with malicious words, and not content therewith, neither does he himself receive the brethren, and forbids them that would, and casts them out of the Koinonia. 11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that does good is of Elohim, but he that does evil has not seen Elohim. 12 Demetrius has good report of all men, and of the truth itself; yea, and we also bear record, and you know that our record is true. 13 I had many things to write, but I will not write with ink and pen unto you. 14 But I trust I shall shortly see you, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to you. Our friends salute you. Greet the friends by name.
[The second and third letters were written by Saint John the Apostle (the son of Zebedee) to an unnamed 'Elect lady' and to Gaius.]
